Lavender Girls | Utah Child Photographer

16 September 2012

Summer is already coming to a close and I am still blogging photos from early in the summer!  I will catch up, eventually.  This past summer was crazy for us and I didn't do a whole lot of photographing... but one thing I did do was get out and photograph my two little cuties a few months ago.  I have known about the Mona lavender farm for a while now and I have been dying to get out and take some photos there while it was in full bloom.  Unfortunately, this summer was so hot and dry that the color left a bit to be desired.  But it was still beautiful and it made a great backdrop for our photos!

Any photographer who has children can attest to the fact that their own kids are the hardest to photograph!  I think it's just because they are used to that darn camera capturing every little event in their lives.  Hence, what was supposed to be a quick session turned into a drawn out chase.  Can't blame 'em... I'm sure it was very freeing to run up and down the rows.  :)  I love the ones that turned out and a few of them are already printed big on my walls!

Bell Family | Utah Family Portrait Photographer, Melanie Rice Photography

29 August 2012

I'm continuing to attempt to catch up on my blogging and want to continue with this cute family from my June orchard mini-sessions! You might recognize these adorable kiddos if you've followed my blog very long... these guys belong to our extended family and are cousins (and best buds, I might add) with my girls! They love playing together and we love having the Bell family nearby. This was the first time I was able to capture their whole family together and I love how they turned out! I know how hard it can be to do family pictures with two toddlers but it is always worth it.

We kind of also picked this location in an attempt to recreate the photo shoot I did for Liv two years ago. Her little brother Eddie is almost the same age now and we thought it would be fun to get similar shots. Can you believe that matching beautiful blond hair on both of these guys?? I love it. I love these guys.

Dearest blog readers.... do YOU need new family portraits??  I still have a few spaces available but they are filling up fast for this fall.  I'm not shooting any family or outdoor sessions past Thanksgiving for this year, so time is of the essence!  Please book now if you want to get beautiful portraits done in time for the holidays.  Also, my Facebook page is alllllmost to 500 "likes" and when we reach that point, I am going to put together a fun giveaway that you won't want to miss.  So if you haven't already, please head over and "like" my page!

DeMarco Family | Provo Utah Family Photographer

17 August 2012

I'm so excited to share my favorites from my session with the DeMarco family!  These guys were so sweet and so great to work with.  Their kids were so well behaved and I think they really had fun during the session.  I always love getting to know new families.  It is my favorite part of the job!  I will always say it 'cause it's true... I have the most wonderful clients and that definitely includes these guys!!  I love the classic summertime orchard setting and it was perfect for our mini-session a couple months ago.  As always, I had the hardest time narrowing down my favorites, but here are a few of them.  Enjoy!
